Instead of reaching for something store bought for your loved one, try making your own this Valentine’s Day, with these easy BrownieBatter Bites! I love creating secretly-healthy-for-you treats, and this one has been a staple in my house. They’re so rich & chocolatey, you’d never know they were packed with protein and refined sugar free. You even have the option to leave it as a batter and eat it as a dip! Make them for a loved one or grab your kids and have a family fun night️.

BROWNIE BATTER TRUFFLES
Makes around 10 truffles

Recipe:
10 tbsp cacao powder
6 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 c nut butter of your choice (I’ve used almond butter, cashew butter, & hazelnut butter, all work well! Definitely suggest hazelnut if you’re a fan of Nutella & peanut butter for my Reese’s lovers)
1/4 c protein powder (Unflavored, vanilla, or chocolate all work. Using pea protein is a great vegan option. I use Vital Proteins, but use what you have on hand!)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2-4 tbsp chocolate chips (again optional, but HIGHLY suggested. Who turns down more chocolate? I use Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips!)
2-4 tbsp water (if needed, to make a smoother batter)

Instructions:
Add all ingredients except chocolate chips to a bowl or food processor and throughly mix. Once combined, add chocolate chips and incorporate into the batter. Feel free to stop here and eat the batter with graham crackers or a spoon (my personal favorite). To make the balls, chill the dough in the fridge until slightly firm, then roll into balls. If you’re feeling fancy, you can roll the balls in chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or melt more chocolate a dip them in. Put them back in the fridge to set and then voilà- raw, easily vegan, protein packed brownie batter bites made with lots of love.
