Move your body. Everyday. If it seems impossible, notice that I did not say do a high intensity, calorie blasting, two-hour workout every day. But did you read it like that?
Movement is so much simpler than that. During high stress or busy periods of our life we tend to go all or nothing on the movement – a two-hour work out or nothing at all. This holiday season, I say we meet in the middle. Can you find time 4 days each week to workout? And can you find 20 minutes in the other three days to just move?
Walk.
Stretch.
Run.
Yoga flow.
If you foresee a particularly busy week, are you able to get more than four days in during the week prior? This is not an ideal approach throughout the course of a year (as consistency as key) but around the holidays it can make a difference.
I’m not sure if it is science or not, but for many of the people I work with, as long as they keep their body moving, they tend to make healthier decisions about what they put into their body from a nutrition aspect as well. The combination of the two is what leads to results or maintenance. The better you feel, the better you treat yourself.
