“What called me to this profession originally was the desire to share what I had learned myself about the practice. Mainly its many health benefits but also it’s applications in stress management. Now that I’ve been teaching for a little longer new learnings are becoming manifest and I’m at a constant buzz to share.”
David first discovered The Hot Room when he was teaching nearby in Columbus, Ohio. A fellow teacher told David he absolutely had to make the drive to Indy and experience the best yoga studio ever. After making some inquiries and setting some dates to come out for a weekend visit, he was hooked. As a traveling yoga teacher, David had many opportunities to visit new and exciting cities, but his favorite assignments are the ones that introduce him to amazing people. After having met The Hot Room team in Autumn 2014, David knew it was only a matter of time before he made his way back to Indianapolis.
MORE ABOUT DAVID
Favorite Posture?
Raja Natarashasana (King of The Dancers) It’s almost like Bow Pulling Posture but with squared shoulders and both hands grip the kicking leg. Super beautiful and super challenging. I fall out far more frequently than I hold it. It’s really the challenge of it I love so much. Learning a knew posture and trying to work out the mechanics behind it is so much fun.
Guilty pleasure?
Cidergeist Bubbles Rosé Ale. It’s essentially pink champagne in a can (seriously what could possibly be more wholesome or natural?)
What do you like to do outside of The Hot Room?
I’m super excited to live in a city with such a vibrant visual art & performance art scene. Since moving here I’ve taken every opportunity to see the Indianapolis Ballet perform. Also enjoying many of the traveling Broadway companies that come out to show in the city. When I have nothing on the docket, you can usually find me wondering through Newfields, the Indianapolis Museum of Art
