Let’s explore how specific yoga poses can activate and harmonize each of the seven chakras, helping you achieve greater equilibrium and vitality.

In Sanskrit, the word "chakra" translates to "wheel." In modern contexts, it refers to the seven key energy centers within your subtle body. These centers are strategically positioned from the base of your spine up to the crown of your head—at the base of the spine, in the lower abdomen, at the solar plexus, within the heart, at the throat, on the forehead, and at the very top of the head.

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara)

  • Essentials: The foundation of all chakras, located at the base of your spine, governs your feelings of stability and security.
