“One of my greatest joys in life is witnessing those around me succeed, and that’s why I love practicing and teaching at The Hot Room. Each member of our community is very dedicated to their personal health and wellbeing, and they succeed every single day by showing up on their mat. It’s truly inspiring to watch.”
Katie found The Hot Room through Carly Daley. Katie and Carly were goal mates at a local CrossFit box and quickly formed a friendship over conversations on how to be your best self, movement, mobility and yoga. Katie loved her first class at THR because it was different from the Vinyasa she was accustomed to practicing. Despite loving her first class and all the challenges that came with it, her practice was inconsistent. It wasn’t until her husband, Tad, surprised her with The Original Hot Yoga teacher training program for her 40th birthday. Six months later, she’s hooked on the practice and jumped right into teaching The Original Hot series.
MORE ABOUT KATIE
Favorite Posture?
Awkward pose. I love how it fires up all the big muscles. Usually at that point of class I need to mentally make a choice on how I want my practice to feel for the next hour. Awkward gives me the opportunity to really flip the mental switch and tell myself it’s time to focus.
What do you do outside of the studio?
I love my life with my boys! My husband, Tad, and two sons, Heath and Patrick, keep me on my toes. I also love to just move and explore. I can’t sit still. It could be a trail or a new city. Our family loves to take day trips in the car and discover new places.
Interesting fact?
I love to water ski and skateboard. I honestly love anything that is physically hard, fast and challenging!
